Pumpkin Patch
Scott and I took Dawson to Mabey's Pumpkin Patch yesterday to get some pumpkins for Halloween. Suz and Chuck brought Ander and Sully along too. Dawson loved it and was running around the pumpkin patch like a maniac the entire time. He kept saying, "I want pocket, I want pocket!" which is his word for pumpkin. We got a couple of nice big ones which we used to decorate the front porch.
This has always been my favorite time of year - I love the leaves changing color, the weather turning cooler, and the fun holidays we have to look forward to in the next few months. Happy Autumn!

Kangaroo Zoo!
Chuck, Suzi and I took Dawson and Ander to a place called Kangaroo Zoo today in Pleasant Grove. It has a lot of huge bouncy houses and inflatable slides that both kids and adults can play on. The kids had an absolute blast going down all of the slides and bouncing in all of the different areas. I felt like a kid again myself going down the slides with Dawson, but I sure did tire out quickly from climbing up them! I would definitely take Dawson there again, even though the prices are a little steep for kids over 2 and adults. It only cost $5.00 each for Dawson and Ander to play but it cost me $8.95. However, it was free for Chuck and Suzi because they just watched Ander play and didn't get on anything with him.
The price was totally worth it for me not to hear my child whine or throw a tantrum for the hour and a half we were there. He was having so much fun and staying so busy that he didn't have time to think about being a stinkerpot.
The three-story slide - this was Dawson's (and my) favorite one
One of the bouncy houses
More cool slides
Yet another slide...
Two little hoodlums
Trying to look cool...
Dawson playing hide-and-seek behind a rack of sippy cups
Ander trying to master riding an inflatable dragon
Get me outta here!

Randoms
I have to say that I am a complete loser when it comes to blogging on a consistent basis. I just don't seem to have the time for it anymore. I'm going back to school to take a Medical Billing & Coding course in less than two weeks and I feel like all my time lately has been devoted to studying (since I'm trying to test-out of a few of my classes) and playing with the little fella.
Here's what we've been up to lately:
My beautiful sister Suzi had a gorgeous baby boy, Sullivan Aubrey Barkley, on June 9th. Isn't he adorable?
Congratulations to the new parents!
When Ander gets to hold new baby bro Sully, he takes it very seriously...
Dawson started taking swimming lessons with Ander. We'll be happy if Dawson survives the summer without drowning, since he's already fallen into the water twice while his teacher was working with Ander, and almost sank to the bottom before she could grab him. Scary stuff!
Here's Dawson learning how to kick and put his face in the water. He loves to be in the pool and asks to go "fwimming" every day.
Ander would rather play with the fish toys than swim, but he's already learned how to hold his breath underwater.
Chuck, Dawson and Ander taking a ride in the Razor. We have to take Dawson for a ride in the Razor almost every night now or he throws a tantrum.
Daddy and Dawson in the Razor. Don't ask me why Scott's shirt is off - I think he might be trying to get rid of his farmer's tan...
I told Dawson I was going to take a picture of him today, so he grabbed my socks and stuffed them in his mouth right before I snapped it. As you can see, he's got some nice bruises that are finally starting to heal on his forehead. As soon as one scrape or bruise starts to heal, he gets another one to take its place. We call him our accident-prone child.
