The Dawsonese Language

Since Dawson is just a week and a half away from being two, I thought this would be a good time for me to write down some of the things he's saying right now and the funny way he pronounces them (before I forget them):

Zeus: Zoo
Suzi: Sa-Sa
Ander: Amma
Robyn: Wobyn
Ernie: Uh-nee
Bert: Buht
gym: dum
work: wurt
time-out: tine-ow
vacuum: vat-yoom
walk: wot
outside: ow-sigh
cracker: dacter
dinner: danna
banana - bonna
snack - nak
Yogos - Ogos
hello - hawwo
good night - nigh-nigh
Grandpa - Poppa
park - part
slide - swy

He can speak in short sentences now and says things like "I want nak (snack)", "Zoo in room in tine-ow (time-out)", "Amma come over", "One-two-free", "Dada at wurt" and "Dada go poopoo". Don't ask me where he picked up that last one!
Also, for those of you who remember my blog entry a few months ago where Dawson told me his name was Amy, I figured out a short time later that Amy is actually Ander. Ever since then, whenever I've asked Dawson what his name is, he says "Amma" every single time. When I say "No, it's Dawson", he'll yell "Amma" over and over. I wonder when he'll grow out of his identity crisis?
I really love him at this age even though he's got way too many Energizer batteries in his system sometimes. It's so fun to hear him talk and be able to communicate with him, even if it's not always easy to understand what he's saying. He's always doing something to make me laugh, and I love being able to hang out with him every day.

Cool new language! I miss my girls being that age. I sure hope I was good like you and wrote all the things they said down. I remember a few right off hand.

Green beans = bean geans
Hippopotamus = hippity hoppitins
English muffin = engle mushmen

Pretty funny. Dawson is sure a cutie! Can't wait to meet him in person!
