This was my second official Mother's Day as a mother, and it was an amazing day. After coming down to the kitchen after I woke up, I found that Scott had given me two dozen roses, a gift certificate to the Brick House, and a really cute card. Scott took Dawson and me to Market Street for a yummy brunch and then we took a walk on the Draper Parkway to burn off some of the calories we'd just consumed.
During Sacrament meeting, Dawson decided to entertain everyone by running up to the pulpit area, running around the back of it and then sprinting out the other side and up the aisle. When I came to pick him up from Nursery, he was fast asleep on the floor, poor kid.
After church we had a tasty dinner at my parents' house, and I got to wish my Mom a happy Mother's Day. I'm so lucky to have such a thoughtful and loving mom and I want her to know that. She's such a wonderful example and I hope I can be half as great a mother as she's been to me.
Happy Mother's Day to all of the rest of the moms out there! Hope your day was as good as mine.
