Day at Lagoon

Scott's parents' Stake Lagoon Day was yesterday so they invited the whole family to come to Lagoon with them. I wasn't really thrilled about going because walking around in 100 degree weather all day and trying to keep our little fella cool and content at the same time is not my idea of fun. However, Scott's mom gave us a bit of a guilt trip about being able to have "quality time as a family" so we ended up going wih them. It was everything I'd thought it would be - deathly hot, extremely crowded and miserable but I did survive the experience so that's saying something. Scott's parents really wanted Dawson to go on some of the kiddie rides but he was just too small to go on most of them by himself. Scott and I took him on the Merry-Go-Round, which scared him to death (see video) and the Wild Kingdom Train, which he wasn't a big fan of either but he did end up falling asleep on it at the end. He's still so young and he's also at the age where he gets scared of things easily so we'll wait a year or two before we take him back. I ended up taking Dawson home early since he was really tired and crabby, but I think we were able to get in some "quality family time" before we left so it turned out okay. FYI - the pictures of Dawson smiling on the rides are before the rides actually started.

That vid is great and so are the pics!! Daw is too cute, too bad he was so scared to enjoy the rides. Good thing you got some quality family time in before you had to leave. :)

I live right by Lagoon. You should have sneaked away and come to my 70 degree house. Whenever I drive by Lagoon and see the parking lot full of cars, on 100 degree days I wonder what kind of idiots would do something like that....now I know:). At least you got some quality time. Dawson looks adorable!
