New Jungle Pool

I got a pool for Dawson yesterday and set it up today with the help of my friend and neighbor, Gaylynn. After we set it up and put water in it, Dawson leaned against the pool from the outside while he splashed the water with his hands. He leaned so far that he fell in and got soaked so I let him play in it without getting him into his swim diaper and shorts. I got in with him because the water was a little cold and I wanted him to get used to it. He would get out after a minute or so to play with Zeus, and then come back and start splashing in the water again. The pool has a canopy you can put on to block out the sun, which is nice because I don't want him getting too much sun. I'm one of those moms who is a freak about making sure my kid doesn't get sunburned and always wears sunscreen. Pale and pasty is better than getting fried and having skin cancer down the road. When I took off his diaper after we were done, it weighed about five pounds and was puffed up to the size of a large cantaloupe from all the water in it - yuck! Now I know why they invented swim diapers. I'm sure his pool will get plenty of use over the summer since that's about all he can do outside when it's so blasted hot.

Caleb was looking at this with me and now he wants a pool like Dawson. Keep that thing nice and you can use it when he's six.
